Slain Indian Police Service officer Chadalavada Umesh Chandra was remembered on his 56th birth anniversary here on Tuesday.
Hyderabad city police commissioner C.V. Anand recalled his association with the officer, as his junior at school and college, and later seeking his help in preparing for Civil Services Examination. Mr. Anand garlanded the officer’s statue at S.R. Nagar here, and later met his family members.
An officer of the 1991 batch, Umesh Chandra was killed by Naxalites on September 4, 1999.
