An experienced ultra swimmer is gearing up for another attempt to cross Lake Michigan, from Michigan to Wisconsin, after a recent setback during his last endeavor. Jim Dreyer, 61, announced that he will embark on this challenging journey from Grand Haven, Michigan, to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, covering a distance of at least 80 miles in the water over a period of 72 hours or more.

Dreyer, also known as 'The Shark,' will be towing a small inflatable boat carrying essential supplies to support him during the arduous swim. Despite facing unexpected challenges in his previous attempts, Dreyer remains determined to achieve his goal and has expressed his readiness to tackle the open water once again.

During his last effort in August, Dreyer encountered difficulties when his GPS device malfunctioned, leading to a deviation from his intended course. Despite losing crucial time and energy, he persevered with only a compass and his instincts to guide him. Unfortunately, unfavorable weather conditions forced him to abandon the swim, marking a disappointing end to his ambitious undertaking.

Undeterred by the setback, Dreyer is now prepared to set out on his latest expedition, equipped with valuable lessons learned from his past experiences. His resilience and passion for open water swimming continue to inspire others as he embarks on this challenging yet exhilarating journey across Lake Michigan.

Enthusiasts and supporters can track Dreyer's progress online as he embarks on this remarkable feat of endurance and determination. Despite the uncertainties that come with open water swimming, Dreyer remains steadfast in his commitment to pushing his limits and conquering the vast expanse of Lake Michigan.
