A popular American sport blogger has ranked the world’s 50 most beautiful sports venues and one Irish ground makes the cut - just missing out on a place in the top 10.
Joe Pompliano runs the sports and business website Huddle Up and has over 360,000 Twitter followers thanks to his ability to get behind the facts and figures involved in sport and break those down for fans.
On this occasion, Pompliano has rated the most picturesque sports grounds on the planet - from pitches on remote islands in the Maldives to others in downtown Manhattan, New York.

While the list features spectacular sporting arenas of all sizes from all over the world, including the Formula One track in Monaco, Killybegs GAA club in Co Donegal is well able to hold its own in the scenic stakes.
Henningsvaer Stadium in Norway is ranked top but Killybegs’ stunning old GAA ground along the Wild Atlantic Way comes in at 11th, just behind the Pasadena Rose Bowl in California in the top 10. The Rose Bowl hosted the 1994 World Cup final.
There have been reports in the past of fishermen recovering Gaelic footballs from miles out to sea on the North Atlantic waters with a string of pitches along the rugged coastline.
No other sports ground in Ireland or the United Kingdom makes the cut.
