The moment when a group of Ukrainians seeking shelter in a subway station in Kyiv began to sing the national anthem has been described as “incredible atmosphere” by a witness.
Oleh Maksymiak, 21, was forced to hide inside a subway in Kyiv on Monday after a rocket strike nearby.
He was travelling into Kyiv from his hometown of Lviv at around 11:30am when he heard the air siren alerting the public to the danger.
