Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal gave an exclusive interview to FRANCE 24 from Kyiv in which he accused Russia of conducting "terrorist" attacks on Ukraine’s infrastructure but stressed that Ukraine would win the war in order to protect their democracy, their families, and their freedom.
Prime Minister Shmyhal said the country would be able to get through the winter despite fuel, gas and electricity shortages.
Asked about the strikes deep inside Russia that happened a few days ago, he said Ukraine was merely trying to defend its territory and recover the areas lost in Russia's 2014 invasion of Crimea. He said he was concerned over Russian threats to use nuclear weapons but added that many countries had issued stern warnings to Russia against using them.
Prime Minister Shmyhal further urged the West to supply air-defence systems and tanks. He warned that continued Russia strikes around the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant was of utmost concern for his country but also for Europe.
