Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently expressed his gratitude towards the United States for their assistance and bipartisan support for Ukraine. Following a productive meeting with President Donald Trump's envoy to Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, Zelensky highlighted the significance of maintaining strong Ukraine-US relations for the benefit of the entire world.
Zelensky emphasized the importance of American strength being felt not only in Ukraine but also across the free world. During the meeting, discussions revolved around the battlefield situation, the return of prisoners of war, and the need for effective security guarantees.
From the onset of the conflict, Ukraine has been actively seeking peace. Zelensky reiterated Ukraine's readiness to engage in a strong and effective investment and security agreement with the President of the United States.
Tensions with Trump

The meeting between Kellogg and Zelensky took place amidst escalating tensions between President Trump and the Ukrainian leader. Trump's derogatory remarks towards Zelensky, including falsely labeling him as a dictator, further strained the diplomatic relationship between the two countries.
Zelensky, in response, accused Trump of propagating misinformation. The rift between the leaders was highlighted when Ukraine was excluded from US-Russia talks concerning the ongoing conflict.
Despite the challenges, Zelensky remains committed to fostering positive relations with the United States and seeking avenues for peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.
