Ukraine's President Reports Shooting Down Seven Russian Military Aircraft

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskiy thanks Americans in a speech at the National Archives in Washington

Ukraine's president has reported that the country's defense forces have successfully shot down seven Russian military aircraft in the past week and a total of 15 over the course of February. Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed concerns over Russia's ongoing aerial attacks, which he believes are intended to cause harm as Ukraine's defense forces face challenges due to a shortage of artillery. Zelensky has urgently requested military aid from the United States to bolster Ukraine's defense capabilities.

Zelensky emphasized the importance of making the conflict unbearable for Russia and terrorist groups, stating that a strong response is necessary to deter those who seek to destroy lives. He highlighted the need for political will to ensure the provision of essential supplies that will aid in the defense efforts. Zelensky warned of the potential consequences if America or Europe were to be defeated by Iranian drones or Russian fighter jets, calling it a shameful chapter in history.

Recent attacks by Russian forces have resulted in six individuals being injured in eastern Ukraine due to missile strikes on residential areas. A police video captured the extensive damage inflicted on a school in one of the towns targeted by the attacks.
