Ukraine’s parliament has expressed its gratitude to President Donald Trump for his efforts in ending the war with Russia. The Verkhovna Rada (parliament) of Ukraine issued a statement thanking President Trump, the United States Congress, and the American people for their support of Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
The statement highlighted the security assistance packages provided by the United States, which have helped stabilize the situation on the front line in Ukraine. The parliament emphasized the importance of further developing the strategic partnership with the United States, particularly in the exploration of critical minerals.

The statement follows a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, President Trump, and US Vice President JD Vance. During the meeting, President Trump and Vice President Vance reportedly criticized Zelensky for not showing enough gratitude for US support. The meeting concluded without Zelensky signing a deal that would have granted the US greater access to Ukraine’s minerals.
President Trump announced that he would provide an update on the minerals deal the following night and suggested that Zelensky should be more appreciative of Washington’s support.
