The UK is set to get a 'spike' of hot weather this weekend, according to forecasters. The weather in the country has been unseasonably cold recently - but this is set to change in Nottinghamshire as well as elsewhere.
By Friday, July 7, at around 6pm Kent will see the highest temperatures, the maps suggest, with Faversham expected to reach a sweltering 28C, Birmingham Live reports. London and parts of Cambridgeshire could see temperatures reach 27C while surrounding areas will reach 26C.
Nottingham is expected to reach 26C on Friday, July 7, with Norwich set to be the hottest part of the country on Saturday, July 8 - in Nottingham temperatures should peak at 24C on Saturday. However once the 24-hour window passes, the temperature will drop into the low 20Cs, Daily Star reports.

Jim Dale, senior meteorologist at British Weather Services, said people should expect a "short spike" from July 7 to 8. He said: "Friday does look hot, and a bit of Saturday, but that’ll be it. A short spike."
Mr Dale added that, while the weekend's brief semi-heatwave will prove short-lived, he still expects "big heat" to return. He said: "I still expect we will see some big heat returning, still plenty of time. Looking south for the next waft."
The Met Office is predicting "early showers or thunderstorms" to return from Sunday, July 9. The forecasters added that they expect temperatures will stay "generally near average" with occasional "sunny spells."
Between July 9 and July 18, the Met Office said a "generally unsettled theme" would bring "rain or showers at times" with "short-lived drier and brighter interludes".
