Brits can look forward to another spell of blistering temperatures that could hit 21C for the second day as the UK enjoys warmer weather than Marbella in southern Spain.
Sunseekers lapped up plenty of hot rays up and down the country on Tuesday with the highest temperature recorded in Porthmadog, in North Wales, on the hottest day of the year so far.
Lucky sunbathers on the beach basked in 21C heat and it will be a similar story on Wednesday while in comparison in Marbella, on the Costa del Sol, it is set to be rainy day with highs of just 16C.
The warm weather is the result of a high pressure system that has moved in from the east and is now settled on the country for the next few days.
There is plenty of sunshine ahead and going into the weekend but then there is likely to be an abrupt halt with BBC weather predicting a return to “wintry weather”.
Maps from WXCharts show temperatures nose-diving next week and could even get as low as -10C in Scotland on Friday, April 1. Snow could also fall across Scotland and northern England on the first weekend of April.
But for this week there are glorious temperatures albeit with cold starts to the day.
BBC weather forecaster Ben Rich said: “High pressure still close by on Wednesday, it stays mostly dry and with those clear skies overhead quite a chilly start to the day with temperatures down to around freezing and below freezing in a few places.
"One or two early fog patches around too, they should tend to lift and clear by the early part of the morning and then it is another beautiful spring day with lengthy spells of sunshine and the vast majority will stay dry.
"There is just a small chance of one or two showers popping up in north east Scotland and maybe in the eastern counties of England. Not as breezy as it was on Tuesday across western areas but every bit as warm with top temperatures 16C to 20C or even 21C.”
Temperatures are then expected to drop again on Wednesday night to around freezing and fog patches for Thursday.
It is not expected to be quite as hot for Thursday and Friday but top temperatures will still be 19C and then it is also expected to be fine for the weekend.
Mr Rich said: "High pressure continues to hold firm so despite that extra cloud and the chance of a bit of fog it is going to stay fine and dry with some spells of sunshine. Into next week though we will develop a northerly wind, it will start to feel quite a lot colder and there could even be some wintry showers."

A chilly start but after any early morning fog clears it will be dry for the vast majority with long sunny spells and becoming warm again. Perhaps an isolated shower developing in the east and north later in the afternoon.
Tonight:
Dry with clear spells, although becoming cloudier in the northwest later. Cold under the clear skies with rural grass frost, and a few fog patches, more especially in eastern England.
Thursday:
Again mostly dry and warm with sunny spells for many although cloudier than of late in the northwest. A few well scattered showers possible, most likely northeastern England and Scotland.
Outlook for Friday to Sunday:
Mostly settled with warm sunny spells each day, but cooler near coasts and overnight. Far north cloudier with light rain at times. Some fog patches for north and east coasts.
