The UK is expected to see changeable weather conditions today, including showers, cloud cover, sunny spells, hail and thunder in some parts.
But temperatures have been forecast to soar over the next few days to the hottest recorded this year, with highs of 14C expected on Saturday afternoon in London, and 16C on Sunday in the south east.
Today, the weather is expected to be mainly rainy with cloud cover in most parts of the UK, according to Met Office forecaster Clare Nasir.
It comes after the brutal gales and downpours brought on by Storm Noa earlier in the week.
The forecaster said that the weather for Friday will include “cloud and rain across Wales, the Midlands, southwards perhaps just clipping Lancashire”, and that “Further north the winds are light. You will still see some showers, but they will be scattered and slow moving.
“So over the highest peaks and through the day that area of cloud or rain gradually clears towards the east, but it will be a slow process.”
