UK weather: Brits to bask in glorious 21C heat burst on Sunday - but there's a catch

Brits can expect another warm day on Sunday, after a glorious start to the weekend on Saturday.

Temperatures were forecast to top 20C in some regions, while some lucky residents in the North-West could see 21C.

It'll remain warm throughout the day, peaking at about 3pm for most of the UK.

Manchester was forecast to have the warmest temperatures on Sunday, reaching 21C by mid-afternoon.

But, most of England's largest cities were expected to see 20C, including London, Birmingham, Liverpool, Southampton, and Plymouth.

In Wales, Swansea and the South-West will likely see the most balmy temperatures, reaching 21C by late afternoon.

It'll be a little cooler in Scotland, however, with Edinburgh peaking at about 11C on Sunday.

The west coast was forecast to have the warmest temperatures, albeit between 14C and 15C.

But, despite the warm weather for most of the UK on Sunday, there's still going to be some patchy showers throughout the day.

Rain could appear in most regions, but it's most likely to fall in the middle of Scotland, as well as the north of England.

The Midlands could expect to see some rain at about 4pm, reaching Northern Ireland shortly afterward.

Meanwhile, the country was forecast to get warmer as we near the end of May.

Temperatures could consistently breach the 25C mark in the final week of the month, as we head for the warmest stretch of the year so far.

Patches of rain were forecast for Sunday afternoon, particularly in the North West (Ventusky)
