The mercury could climb as high as 30C in the southwest on Tuesday but there are yellow weather warnings in places for thunderstorms in two parts of the country.
Monday brought scorching weather for most and that seems to be the theme for the week ahead as temperatures soar above average for this time of year.
There were spells of thunderstorms in some places, with Manchester City's bus parade affected by the inclement weather but it certainly did not spoil the celebrations.
Yellow weather warnings are in force for the western half of Northern Ireland and western parts of Scotland, with the warnings set between midday and 9pm.
Some of the affected will still avoid the downpours, which could lead to flooding, power cuts and potential dangerous driving conditions.
Met Office meteorologist Alex Deakin said: "Not a cold start to Tuesday, for most, it will be a sunny start. During the day, the heat and humidity building once more in the far west.
"The western half of Northern Ireland and western parts of Scotland. In this zone, a few but heavy, potentially torrential downpours are likely and the Met Office does have warnings in place.
"Not everywhere in the warning areas will see the downpours, but where they do occur, a lot of rain falling in a short space of time could cause some disruption. A lot of spray and surface water on the roads, the potential for flooding."
However, for most, it will be sizzling once again as the southwest set to reach 30C. The rest of the UK will be in the mid to high 20s, with Britain set to be hotter than Barcelona (26C), Berlin (23C) and Rome (26C).
Mr Deakin continued: "For the vast majority though, a dry, fine, sunny very warm summer's day with temperatures in the mid to high 20s. In the south, up to 30C in some locations."
