Brits can finally start digging out their picnic and BBQ sets with a bank holiday sizzler on the horizon.
Warmer and brighter weather is headed for the UK with highs of 21C expected in some areas during the Coronation weekend.
It follows a 'teaser' bank holiday weekend with the mercury set to reach 18C in the South East over the coming bank holiday weekend.
Things got off to a chilly start this year, with much of the country still relying on thick sweaters and umbrellas to get through the April showers.
But the Met Office predicts a sunny transition to sunnier conditions just in time for King Charles' official crowning ceremony on May 6 – a stark contrast from the "atrocious" weather for the late Queen Elizabeth II's coronation on June 2, 1953.
Royal fans are set to fill the streets in their thousands once again, when the Monarch makes his way to Westminster Abbey alongside his wife, Queen Consort Camilla.
Chris Almond, deputy chief meteorologist at the Met Office, said: “By Friday temperatures will have increased so that we will see values around 18 to 21C across parts of the UK.
"The coming bank holiday weekend itself will be a mixture of brighter conditions and showers. These showers will tend to be heaviest and most frequent in the west on Saturday.
"On Sunday most locations can expect to see at least some showers, whereas on the bank holiday Monday the focus for showers is more likely to be the east, with drier conditions elsewhere. Temperatures will be reasonable and above average.”

Following the bank holiday, many areas are set to stay fine and dry with the odd light shower. Later in the week is set to become wetter with some heavy and thundery rain on the cards.
But the weather is set to settle once more for a fair and mild Coronation weekend.
