UK to send asylum seekers to Rwanda: Opposition and NGOs condemn 'inhumane' deal

Rwanda has struck a £120 million deal with the UK to take in some asylum seekers who arrive in Britain illegally. Tens of thousands of people could be resettled under the agreement over the years. Refugee groups have slammed the move as unethical and expensive. Human Rights Watch tells us the plan is cynical and unsafe.

Meanwhile, Kenya's government has deported the French CEO of one of the country's biggest oil marketers. Jean-Christian Bergeron is the first person to be sanctioned over a weeks-long fuel crisis that the government has blamed on marketers hoarding fuel stocks.

Finally, in Guinea, price hikes during the month of Ramadan are nothing new. But this year, the rise in the cost of staples has been steeper than ever despite government subsidies. Our team on the ground reports.
