Having once brought us the deep-fried Mars Bar, Glasgow is no stranger to food with a peculiar (and divisive) twist.
But a plate of fish and chips covered in 24-karat edible gold that will set you back a whopping £80 is taking wacky dishes to another level.
Fish and chip shop and pizzeria Enzo's in Crookston has added the novel creation to its menu, is calling it "UK’s most expensive fish and chips supper", Glasgow Live reports.
At a price of £79.99, all of the items are covered in the edible gold leaf and include battered fish, sausage, chips, pickled onions and lemons.
But owner, Enzo, has promised that the food doesn't just look luxurious and is every bit as delicious to eat.

Sharing their new creation on Instagram, the chippy said: "UK’s Most Expensive Golden Fish & Chips Supper covered with 24K Edible Gold. Love Exotic Food? You’ve to try this!!"
They add: "Who can say no to a luxurious meal?! Not me!! I’ve got a weakness for Crispy Chips and not to mention that Soft and Tender Fish!"
Glasgow Live uploaded a video of Enzo making the dish and readers weren't convinced by the invention:
One wrote: Leave our fish n chips as they should be! Who needs or wants edible gold on it! Cheap chippies are the best!
Another said: "The gold adds absolutely nothing to the flavour or texture. Pointless."
One third poster, however, showed her support: "All credit to them grabbing attention to with this! Enzo’s is my go to fish and chip shop - not the nearest to me but worth travelling to. Totally recommend it!"

Last month we reported on Crisp and Fry, a chain of chip shops in Wales, making a commemorative blue and red Platinum Jubilee fish and chips.
A video of the dish being made went viral with most social media users horrified by the dish.
Once cooked, the blue battered fish is laid on top of brightly coloured red chips, with mayonnaise plopped on to imitate the stripes on the Union Jack flag.
One user wrote: “Thanks, Queen’s crying now” and another joked: “The police have been informed.”
A third warned the chip shop that “my therapist will hear about this”.
