During his debut appearance at the U.N. General Assembly, the newly elected British Prime Minister highlighted his commitment to restoring the UK's role as a responsible global leader. He pledged to lead efforts in addressing climate change both domestically and internationally, as well as recommitting to international development initiatives.

Prime Minister Starmer expressed his intention to collaborate with other nations in resolving conflicts in regions such as Gaza, the West Bank, Ukraine, and Sudan, emphasizing the urgent need for immediate cease-fires. He underscored the importance of collective action to create a safer world, acknowledging the challenges faced by existing peace institutions due to underfunding and politicization.

Starmer called for global cooperation in addressing the erosion of arms control mechanisms and combating the proliferation of weapons, stressing the necessity for unified efforts to address these critical issues. He outlined a shift in the UK's approach towards international partnerships, moving away from paternalism towards mutual respect and collaboration.

The Prime Minister announced the UK's commitment to sharing its expertise with other nations and fostering relationships based on equality and respect. He urged world leaders to reject fatalism and work towards preventing further conflict, instability, and injustice in an increasingly polarized global landscape.

Starmer's address at the U.N. General Assembly signaled a renewed focus on proactive diplomacy and multilateral engagement to address pressing global challenges and promote peace and stability on a global scale.
