The UK’s Eurovision Song Contest artist has been announced today (March 7) on Scott Mills' BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show.
Remember Monday will represent the country in the international singing competition with their song What The Hell Just Happened.
Announcing the news, the girl group made up of Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull, and Charlotte Steele said: “Honestly we feel like we're on another planet, nothing is sinking in."
Lauren added the band met at sixth form and used to have free periods on a Monday together, which inspired their name.
Who won Eurovision in 2024?
Last year, Eurovision was hosted in Malmo, Sweden and the winner was Nemo Mettler from Switzerland.
Tearfully accepting the trophy on stage, Nemo said: “I want to say thank you so much – I hope this contest can live up to its promise and continue to stand for peace and dignity for every person in this world.”
How did the UK do in previous years?
In 2024, UK entrant Olly Alexander didn’t finish dead last with dance pop track Dizzy but did receive “nul points” from the audience vote.
It was the first time that a British entry performed in the semi-final of the competition and gave the UK a chance to showcase its song twice.
@remembermonday_ soooo if we were to tour again… where might you wanna see us? 👀👀👀

The year before that, pop singer Mae Muller represented the UK and scored 24 points with her track I Wrote A Song when she performed at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena.
In 2022, Sam Ryder’s Eurovision stint representing the UK saw the singer finish as runner-up in Turin, Italy.
His Eurovision success also helped him achieve a UK number one album, two UK number two singles and Brit and Emmy Award nominations.
