UK's biggest family the Radfords with 22 kids to expand as daughter shares pregnancy

Britain’s biggest family is getting larger as Millie, one of the 22 children of the Radford family, has announced she is pregnant.

Millie, 20, is the seventh eldest of the children and she will be welcoming her parents with a ninth grandchild.

She revealed the news with an Instagram snap showing her baby bump while holding her daughter Ophelia.

The photo was captioned: “Happy due date little man. Ophelia is obsessed with her little brother already.”

She also told Radford fans that Friday was her due date.

Sibling Chloe, who is also pregnant, said that she is looking to meet the new member of the family.

She wrote: “We cannot wait to meet him. O is gonna be the best big sister.”

Many others replied on Instagram wishing Millie “congratulations”.

One said: “Congrats Millie, Ophelia will be a great big sister.”

Parents Sue and Noel are parents to Chris, 32, Sophie, 28, Chloe, 26, Jack, 24, Daniel, 22, Luke, 21, Millie, 20, Katie, 19, James, 18, Ellie, 16, Aimee, 15, Josh, 14, Max, 13, Tillie, 11, Oscar, 10, Casper, nine, Hallie, six, Phoebe, five, Archie, four, Bonnie, three, and Heidie, one.

Their 17th child Alfie was still born on July 6, 2014.

The family famously doesn’t rely on benefits and is supported by their pie shop business.

While some of the older children have moved out and started families of their own, the majority of the Radfords all live in an enormous ten bedroom house in Morecambe.

The family recently packed the pews of their local church, including all 22 of their children, to celebrate the christening of the two youngest members.

Sue and Noel took part in the final christening for their two youngest daughters Heidi and Bonnie in the most recent episode (February 9) of Channel 5 series ‘22 Kids & Counting’, which documents the family’s often-hectic life.

The gathering in Morecambe Parish church was the first time four generations of the Radford family had gathered in one place in over two years, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Daily Star reports.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the vicar Catherine Hayden was daunted but excited by the prospect of managing such an enormous brood.

“This is my first Radford baptism,” Catherine admitted. “I love doing baptisms, and I love having a church full of children, so it is a very exciting thing to be doing.”

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen that many people from one immediate family in a church, it’s great to have them here though.”

Despite the stresses of the day’s preparations, Bonnie and Heidi’s ceremony went largely unhitched.

There were a few tears from Bonnie when the vicar dripped holy water onto her head, while Heidi pulled a rather bemused expression.

“It was nice, a nice little service, Bonnie wasn’t overly pleased with the holy water side of it, but yeah, she’s alright now,” Noel reflected.

“It’s been a really stressful week, but the kids have come through,” Sue added.
