UK Pride celebrations are soon set to descend on Newcastle, with events on the Town Moor kicking off on Friday July 22 and continuing across the weekend.
Organisers Northern Pride have a huge line-up of events planned as in-person festivities return for the first time since 2019, with the likes of Spice Girl Mel C and local lad former X Factor winner Joe McElderry taking to the main stage. The weekend will also see performances from RuPaul's Drag Race UK star Choriza May, DJ Adele Roberts, and singer Katy B.
As with any festival, there are rules around food and drink and what those heading to Pride are allowed to bring in with them. Here’s what you need to know about what you can and can't take to the Town Moor events.

Attendees aren’t allowed to bring any food into the venue, but one sealed bottle of water or a soft drink per person is allowed. There will be free water facilities on site where people will be able to fill up on water at refillable stations.
Northern Pride are promising “plenty of food and drink options on offer” on the Town Moor throughout the festivities. Those who buy Platinum Passes will also have access to a separate private bar and exclusive food options.
Visitors will find much more than food vendors on the Town Moor - there will also be a fun fair, merchandise shop and different zones showcasing LGBTQ+ performances, charities and businesses. Organisers are urging attendees to pay a visit to the site’s Community Village which will be a hub of activities and support services where extra food and drink options will be on offer.
