Some Central Kentucky children in need will get to experience a happier holiday this year. The Circle of Love is a program with University of Kentucky Healthcare. They serve children in the areas surrounding Fayette County.
Sara Camic is the manager of volunteer services at the UK Medical Center. She said this year, they were able to sponsor 614 kids.
“We do also collect gifts for some of the kids who are going to be in the hospital over the holidays as well. So, in addition to the school kids, we have about 120 gifts that we collect for pediatric patients every year.”
She said they had multiple vehicles lined up to deliver the gifts.
“We had school buses come, we also had some box trucks come, we had some schools that just brought a caravan of cars, they loaded up all the presents. We did have a few bikes this year and two different schools has pieces of furniture.”
Most of the items will be held at the schools where the children attend until closer to the Christmas holiday.
