UK gets first fish and chip themed hotel

The world's first fish and chip themed hotel has opened in Blackpool. Gala Bingo has unveiled its Jolly Good Fish & Chip Hotel prototype which will be open this weekend.

Guests will be able to enjoy free portions of fish, chips and peas, alongside free games of bingo while the hotel room is decorated in a ‘five in a row’ theme featuring bright colours.

The hotel will only be available as a pop-up this weekend from 12pm-8pm on Saturday, July 8, and Sunday, July 9.

A Gala Bingo spokesperson said: “Gala Bingo is calling all British seaside goers to visit the world’s first ‘Fish & Chip Hotel’, popping up in the vibrant coastal town of Blackpool on the 8th and 9th July for one weekend only.

“The Jolly Good Fish & Chip Hotel prototype will be welcoming visitors to enjoy a portion of fish, chips and peas alongside games of bingo, all for free.”

They added: “The Jolly Good Fish & Chip Hotel room will also be open for visitors to have a snoop around. The Gala Bingo concierge will be there to meet and greet guests and welcome them into the ‘five in a row’ themed suite, where they can test out the hotel bed, and have a cheeky selfie with friends, and experience what it would be like to spend a night in the world’s first Fish & Chip Hotel room. There has never been a more comfortable way to enjoy your fish & chips.”

The hotel will be located by Blackpool Promenade. It will be open on a walk-in basis for people aged 18 and over only.
