British tourists in the Canary Islands have been issued an urgent weather warning, as Storm Oscar fast approaches the tropical tourist hotspot.
The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) have released an orange weather warning for wind spanning the Canary Islands, with fears that gales could blast as quickly as 90 kilometres per hour.
Yellow weather warnings have also been put in place across the Canaries for rain, as a weather front from the Atlantic swarms the usually sunny shores.

The alert takes effect tomorrow (June 6) and will last between midnight to 11.59pm. The brief but blustery warning expects that the gales will hit Tenerife and La Palma in particular.
La Gomera and El Hierro meanwhile will be exposed to 70km gusts, and are also covered by the rain alerts - as is Gran Canaria. The local meteorological agency warns: "Be aware, keep up to date with the latest weather forecast.
"Moderate damages to people and properties may occur, especially to those vulnerable or in exposed areas."
The UK Met Office meanwhile, states: "Storm Oscar has been named by the Spanish Met Service @AEMET_Esp Heavy rain and brisk winds are forecast across the Canary Islands this week, leading to the risk of large waves and localised flooding."
Elsewhere, the UK's Foreign Office website, warns: "Flash flooding can occur resulting in damage to property, infrastructure and travel disruption. Check weather warnings from Spain’s meteorological office (AEMET) before travel and follow the advice of the local authorities"
