UFC star Khamzat Chimaev calls out Logan Paul for debut MMA fight

Logan Paul has been offered a UFC debut fight by top welterweight contender Khamzat Chimaev.

The Swedish grappler is one of the fastest-rising stars in the sport after exploding on to the scene with dominant wins in his first four fights after signing for the promotion. And he has long expressed interest in taking on one of the Paul brothers in either a boxing match or MMA.

Now, with the elder Paul seemingly on the lookout for a fight in the UFC, Chimaev has offered his services to welcome him into the promotion. The YouTube star who took up boxing in 2018 has an extensive wrestling background, as well as competing in three boxing matches against KSI twice and Floyd Mayweather.

But he would need to be put through extensive training to be able to compete with the unbeaten Chimaev, who has fought at both middleweight and welterweight in his UFC run, including two stoppages within two weeks against former BAMMA champions John Phillips and Rhys McKee where he dropped from 185lb to 170lb within just days of fighting.

Replying to an exchange that had happened on Paul's podcast Impaulsive where UFC president Dana White insisted that he is "not saying no" to bringing him into the promotion, Chimaev tweeted "I'm waiting for you in UFC Logan Paul." Fans appeared to like the idea, with one tweeting: "Let's have Khamzat fight both Paul Brothers Back to Back. He'll Smesh [sic] both, without breaking a sweat," while another posted a photoshopped picture of Chimaev landing ground-and-pound shots on Paul.

The social media star is currently eyeing up his next moves in the fight world, and has returned alongside his boxing trainer Milton Lacroix to he and his brother Jake's Puerto Rican training base. He will be back in the United States shortly to compete at WrestleMania, but appears to now want to return to combat sooner than expected.

He has a number of options, most notably a bout with top Brazilian influencer Whindersson Nunes, and has insisted that he won't retire from fighting until he has earned a win. He drew his white collar bout with KSI in August 2018 before losing a split decision in their professional rematch the following year after being deducted two points for an illegal shot.

Perhaps Paul's most famous bout, however, was last summer's exhibition bout at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami against 50-0 legend Mayweather. He was allowed to weigh in over two-stone heavier than the former world champion, and managed to go the distance against all odds. But no winner was declared due to the exhibition rules, so he remains without a victory in the ring after three attempts.

His brother Jake, on the other hand, has gone 5-0 as a professional after making his white collar debut on the same card as Logan. That night, he defeated KSI's younger sibling Deji, and he has since gone on to stop his four professional opponents AnEsonGib, Nate Robinson, Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley.
