UFC star has fiancee's name tattooed on his lip for Valentine's Day

Top UFC featherweight Brian Ortega showed off his love for his fiancee on Valentine's Day by getting her name tattooed on his inner lip.

Ortega, who is engaged to UFC flyweight Tracy Cortez, revealed the new tattoo on a video he uploaded to Instagram.

“All I can say is…I LOVE HER” Ortega captioned the post of him, with Cortez hinting she got the same tattoo by replying: Matchi matchi baby, te amo!"

The fighting duo made their relationship public last year and fans were quick to spot their engagement in a picture that was posted before Ortega fought at UFC 266.

Cortez uploaded a photo of herself alongside Ortega before the fight and UFC commentator Lauro Sanko realised she had a ring on her engagement finger.

"Girrrrrrllll!!! That ring is…Tell me I’m not making stuff up?!" and Cortez replied: "I said yes!".

No.2 ranked featherweight Ortega hasn't fought since losing out on the featherweight title against Alex Volkanovski last September.

Volkanovski put on a gutsy display to win a unanimous decision after five rounds in one of the best title fights of 2021.

Ortega came inches away from victory in the fight, turning Volkanovski's face purple with several submission attempts but somehow the Australian refused to tap.

It marked Ortega's second title shot during his current UFC stint, first coming up short against former champion Max Holloway in 2018.

Ortega's partner Cortez was signed by the UFC after winning her fight on the Contender Series against Mariya Agapova in 2019.

The 28-year-old has since won fights against Vanessa Melo, Stephanie Egger and Justine Kish, missing weight for her most recent win.

She hasn't fought in almost a year, being forced to withdraw from her scheduled fight against JJ Aldrich last August due to a hand injury.

Cortez - who has switched between flyweight and bantamweight in the UFC - also holds a win over top flyweight prospect Erin Blanchfield when the pair fought in Invicta FC.
