UFC signee Danylo Voievodkin suspended two years for failed drug test

Heavyweight Danylo Voievodkin has yet to hit the UFC cage but has already failed one of the promotion’s drug tests.

UFC anti-doping program Combat Sports Anti-Doping announced Thursday that Voievodkin (7-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) failed an out-of-competition test and has been suspended two years. A sample from an Oct. 17 collection was positive for Meldonium.

Meldonium is “prohibited at all times substance in the class of Hormone and Metabolic Modulators,” according to CSAD.

“CSAD has further determined that no mitigating factors exist in this case to warrant a departure from the standard 24-month sanction for the use of Meldonium, a non-specified substance under the UFC ADP,” a written statement from CSAD said Thursday.

Ukraine’s Voievodkin, 24 had been offered a UFC contract less than one month prior when he upset Bailey Schoenfelder with a quick submission on Dana White’s Contender Series.

Voievodkin will be eligible to return Nov. 10, 2026 – two years from when he was placed on suspension.
