Jon Anik will continue to call UFC action cageside for the foreseeable future.
Anik, 44, has signed a new contract to remain as the lead play-by-play commentator, among other duties, the promotion announced Thursday. No details of the deal were revealed.
Anik, who started working for the UFC in 2011, was promoted to lead play-by-play commentator for pay-per-views, as well as select UFC Fight Night shows, after Mike Goldberg departed in 2017. Anik has been a fan favorite ever since.
“So grateful,” Anik said on Twitter. “Grateful for the fighters. I hold you all in the highest regard. Grateful for UFC fans. Your support gives me great energy to perform! Grateful for my bosses, who entryst me with this tremendous responsibility. I’ll never take it lightly. And my colleagues … love ya!”
