UFC ABC 7 Cory Sandhagen Deiveson Figueiredo ESPN ESPN2 Loopy Godinez Mackenzie Dern Marlon Vera Michael Chiesa

UFC on ABC 7 took place Saturday, and MMA Junkie provided live round-by-round updates and official results. UFC on ABC 7 (ABC, ESPN2, ESPN+) took place at Etihad Arena in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.

In the main event, Cory Sandhagen (17-5 MMA, 10-4 UFC) took on Umar Nurmagomedov (18-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) in a bantamweight title eliminator. In the co-feature, Shara Magomedov (14-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) met Michal Oleksiejczuk (19-9 MMA, 17-7 UFC) at middleweight.

Plus, former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo (24-3-1 MMA, 13-3-1 UFC) took on Marlon Vera (23-10-1 MMA, 15-9 UFC) at bantamweight, Michael Chiesa (17-7 MMA, 12-7 UFC) tried to send Tony Ferguson (25-11 MMA, 15-9 UFC) out of the UFC on a historic eight-fight skid, and Mackenzie Dern (14-5 MMA, 9-5 UFC) took on Loopy Godinez (12-5 MMA, 7-5 UFC).

Cory Sandhagen vs. Umar Nurmagomedov

Round 1 – Here we go! Sandhagen takes the center of the cage and begins to pressure Nurmagomedov. They both trade leg kicks. Nurmagomedov shoots for a single leg takedown and briefly takes down Sandhagen. Sandhagen gets up and breaks away almost immediately. Back to striking. Leg kick by Sandhagen. Nurmagomedov shoots again for a single and Sandhagen defends! We’re halfway through the round. Leg kick by Sandhagen. They both trade leg kicks. Righthand connects for Sandhagen. Hard leg kick connects for Sandhagen. Again. Nurmagomedov shoots and gets a takedown with a few seconds remaining. The bell rings.

Round 2 – Body kick by Nurmagomedov. Nurmagomedov shoots again for a single. He spins around and gets Sandhagen’s back, but Sandhagen gets to his feet and breaks away. Big leg kick by Sandhagen. Sandhagen shoots, spins around Sandhagen’s back and takes him down. Sandhagen scrambles out and end in a front headlocl position. The bell rings.

Round 5 – Leg kick by Sandhagen. Sandhagen is way more agressive here compared to previous rounds. One, two connects for Nurmagomedov. Now it’s Nurmagomedov the one chasing. He shoots, spins out the back and takes down Sandhagen after several scrmables. Nurmagomedov now inside Sandhagen’s guard. Two minutes left. They scramble, but Nurmagomedov seems to be getting the better of them. Back on top for Nurmagomedov. Nurmagomedov finishes the round on top.

Oleksiejczuk is bleeding from his left eyebrow. And a bodyt kick lands for Magomedov. It looks like Oleksiejczuk is slowing down a bit.
