Nate Diaz has been tipped to consider a WWE move after seeing out his UFC contract by submitting Tony Ferguson earlier this month.
Diaz, 37, submitted Ferguson in their fight at UFC 279 after his original opponent Khamzat Chimaev missed weight by 7.5lb. After a 15-year stint in the UFC, Diaz is now free to leave the promotion as his win against Ferguson marked the last fight on his contract. Diaz hinted at a move to boxing by taking a dig at Conor McGregor's loss to Floyd Mayweather in 2017, insisting that he will do what McGregor couldn't in "taking over" another sport.
Former two-weight UFC champion Henry Cejudo has backed Diaz to make a name for himself in the WWE after Diaz was pictured alongside the organisation's Chief Content Officer Paul 'Triple H' Levesque and his wife Stephanie McMahon. Cejudo claimed Diaz is hoping "to dabble into WWE" after seeing out his UFC contract.

"We just saw Nate Diaz too. I saw him in the restroom. He was high as a kite and so was I, we looked at each other, he's hilarious. Anyway, he's looking to dabble into WWE to make money," Cejudo told Helen Yee. "We gotta use the brand that the UFC has given you and all these other platforms and continue to make money as an entrepreneur. I think he's an easy sell too. Let him be him, you know and just know that it's not real."
Fans have joked that if Diaz was to make move to the WWE, he could settle his rivalry with wrestling legend Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. Diaz's history with Johnson dates back to when he Jorge Masvidal with the 'BMF' belt after defeating Diaz in November 2019. Diaz hit out at Johnson in his post-fight speech, slamming his involvement in the presentation of the belt.
More recently, Diaz took aim the Johnson by criticising a pair of shoes that he was wearing which were designed by the former WWE star. “These shoes f****ng suck! Look at these shoes. They made me put this sh** on. F*** these shoes!” Diaz shouted while ripping the shoes off. Johnson recently teamed up with sports label Under Armour to release his own signature shoe line in the UFC, but fighters don't receive any additional pay for wearing the new products.
Diaz didn't reveal the new profession he plans to step into after seeing out his UFC contract, but he has been linked to a fight YouTube star turned boxer Jake Paul. The 36-year-old also kept the door open for a UFC return in the future and thanked Dana White despite their rocky relationship over the years.
