UFC legend Michael Bisping has backed Conor McGregor to beat Charles Oliveira on a potential lightweight title fight.
Bisping believes that of all the top contenders in the 155 pound division, a fight with Oliveira would be the most winnable for 'The Notorious'.
“I’ve said this before, Charles does get hit," Bisping said.
“Out of all the matchups that might favour Conor the most, simply because Charles [gets hit]."
Despite believing McGregor could cause Oliveira problems, Bisping doesn't believe the Irish Superstar deserves a shot at the title given his recent record. McGregor has only won one fight since 2016, and is 1-3 in his last four fights.
"For McGregor, does he deserve a title fight? No, he doesn’t.
“But he’s the biggest star in the sport," Bisping added
"And sometimes that just sways in. And I wouldn’t be angry if he got it.
"Charles would welcome it. That would be a massive fight, an absolute blockbuster.”
Bisping and McGregor aren't exactly what you'd call the best of friends. In the past, the two have traded barbs on social media, with McGregor calling Bisping "a nobody" last year.
“And everyone knows I’m not kissing McGregor’s ass," said Bisping
"I’m far from being a fanboy of McGregor."
Seemingly the entire lightweight division has called out McGregor in recent weeks. Oliveira, Michael Chandler and Tony Ferguson have all stated their claim for a crack at McGregor when he returns from injury this year.
