Yair Rodriguez punched his ticket to a fight with Alexander Volkanovski in style.
The Mexican fighter won the UFC interim featherweight title and secured himself a shot at the champion with an impressive showing against veteran Josh Emmett earlier this year. Back in February at UFC 284 in Australia, Rodriguez put on one of the best showings of his career. He outstruck Emmett with his dynamic kicking game then submitted him with a triangle choke in the second round.
You can watch Rodriguez’s title winning performance in the video above.
Rodriguez returns July 8 as he looks to unify the UFC featherweight title against champion Volkanovski. The fight goes down in the main event of UFC 290 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
