UFC free fight: Brandon Moreno defeats Deiveson Figueiredo to close out championship tetralogy

The biggest rivalry in UFC flyweight history needed four fights to come to a conclusion, and in the end, Brandon Moreno came out on top.

The UFC flyweight champion closed out his tetralogy with Deiveson Figueiredo earlier this year in the co-main event of UFC 283 in Brazil. After three fights, where Moreno and Figueiredo went 1-1-1, and winning the UFC interim flyweight belt against Kai Kara-France, Moreno stepped into enemy territory and finished Figueiredo in the third round of their contest. Figueiredo was unable to step into the fourth round due to an eye injury caused by the Mexican.

It was a big win for Moreno that cemented him as the king of 125 pounds. You can re-watch Moreno’s win over Figueiredo in the video above.

Moreno returns to the cage on July 8, as he defends his title against Alexander Pantoja in the co-main event of UFC 290 in Las Vegas.

Moreno (21-6-2 MMA, 9-3-2 UFC) is on a two-fight winning streak. Since the loss to Pantoja back in 2018, Moreno is 7-1-2 – the run that saw him win the UFC flyweight title, lose it, and then reclaim it.

On the other hand, Pantoja (25-5 MMA, 9-3 UFC) is 6-2 since defeating Moreno. He is currently on a three-fight winning streak, with his most recent win coming over Alex Perez in July 2022.
