LAS VEGAS – UFC fighters are competitive with each other in more than just the octagon, and that showed when a group of notables hit the hardwood on the eve of UFC 290.
One team captained by UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier took on another led by light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill in a basketball game that went down to the wire, with Team Cormier winning 49-48 and UFC welterweight Phil Rowe taking home most valuable player honors.
Cormier, Hill, Rowe, Belal Muhammad, Kevin Holland, Derek Brunson, Mike Malott, and more were among the participants in the game, which had $3,000 on the line for the winning team. Afterward, Cormier told MMA Junkie he’s now “retired from all athletics.”
It was a fun scene, and MMA Junkie was there for it. You can watch the video highlights above and see a copy of the box score below.
