The UFC handed out four bonuses after Saturday’s card – one for each finish at the event.
After UFC Fight Night 246, four fighters picked up an extra $50,000 for their performances in Edmonton. Check out the winners below.
Performance of the Night: Youssef Zalal
Youssef Zalal def. Jack Shore via submission (arm-triangle choke) – Round 2, 0:59
Youssef Zalal (16-5-1 MMA, 6-3-1 UFC) has been tearing it up, and he landed a picture-perfect knee up the middle against Jack Shore (17-3 MMA, 6-3 UFC) early in the second round. Shore hit the canvas, and Zalal pounced on him and wrapped up an arm-triangle choke to get the finish. Zalal, who found himself outside the UFC two years ago after an 0-3-1 run, is back and has six straight wins overall. The past three have been in his return to the UFC, including now two straight bonus winners.
Performance of the Night: Charles Jourdain
Charles Jourdain def. Victor Henry via submission (guillotine choke) – Round 2, 3:43
Charles Jourdain (16-8-1 MMA, 7-7-1 UFC) found himself in a reasonably competitive fight with Victor Henry (24-7 MMA, 3-2 UFC) on the prelims, but on a get-up, he latched onto Henry’s neck and the squeeze was so tight that Henry tapped within just a couple seconds.
Performance of the Night: Dustin Stoltzfus
Dustin Stoltzfus def. Marc-Andre Barriault via knockout (punches) – Round 1, 4:28
Dustin Stoltzfus (16-6 MMA, 3-5 UFC) took Marc-Andre Barriault (16-9 MMA, 5-8 UFC) down quickly and was dominating him on the canvas with serious choke attempts. When Barriault managed to get back to his feet, they got into a brawl – and Stoltzfus connected with a picture-perfect right uppercut that put the Canadian down just when he thought he was back in the fight.
Performance of the Night: Jasmine Jasudavicius
Jasmine Jasudavicius def. Ariane da Silva via submission (D’Arce choke) – Round 3, 2:28
Jasmine Jasudavicius (12-3 MMA, 6-2 UFC) put on a brilliant performance with a second-round finish of Ariane da Silva (17-10 MMA, 6-7 UFC). Jasudavicius thrilled her home fans with her second D’Arce choke finish in her past three fights – both of which have gotten her an extra $50,000.
