LAS VEGAS – Luana Carolina missed weight by a sizeable margin for UFC Fight Night 235, but she delivered on fight night with an emphatic win.
Carolina (10-4 MMA, 5-3 UFC) fended off the dangerous submission attacks of Julija Stoliarenko (11-8-2 MMA, 2-6 UFC) for nearly three full rounds before she managed to get top position late in the fight and unload punches until referee Eric McMahon waved it off with just seconds remaining at the 4:52 mark of Round 3 at the UFC Apex.

The matchup was scheduled to take place in the women’s flyweight division, but Carolina weighed in at 128 pounds – two pounds over the divisional limit. She was fined 20 percent of her purse, but Carolina wasn’t deterred. She got the job done, and now is on a two-fight winning streak for the first time in her UFC tenure.
