UFC Fight Night 230 weigh-in results: One fighter heavy, one rematch canceled

LAS VEGAS – MMA Junkie was on scene and reporting live from Friday’s official UFC Fight Night 230 fighter weigh-ins.

The weigh-ins took place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The same venue hosts Saturday’s event, which streams on ESPN+.

Among those weighing in are Sodiq Yusuff (13-2 MMA, 6-1 UFC) and Edson Barboza (23-11 MMA, 17-11 UFC), who meet in the feaatherweight main event, and women’s flyweights Viviane Araujo (11-5 MMA, 5-4 UFC) and Jennifer Maia (21-9-1 MMA, 6-5 UFC), who fight in the co-feature.

Those top names all made weight successfully, but the same can’t be said for main card fighter Christian Rodriguez, who weighed four pounds over the bantamweight for his matchup with Cameron Saaiman. The fight will continue at a catchweight, but Rodriguez will forfeit 25 percent of his purse to his opponent.

Additionally, the planned catchweight rematch between between Edgar Chairez and Daniel Lacerda was canceled after both men weighed in due to a non-weight-related medical issue on Lacerda’s side, the promotion announced.
