UFC star Kamaru Usman was scammed out of $60,000 by an attractive woman who promised to invest his cash for him.
The promotion's pound-for-pound king is awaiting details of his next title defence with British star Leon Edwards currently in pole position to take a shot.
Welterweight Usman has earned million during his rise in one of the promotion's most competitive divisions.
However he has revealed that the scam happened after he was told to invest his money but didn't know what he was doing with it.
"Everything I always heard, ‘Yeah, you've got to put money in the market," Usman told GQ on a YouTube video. "'You've got to invest in this; invest, invest.’
"I’m like, ‘Alright.’ I didn’t really know what I was doing. So, a friend introduced me to some lady who invests for you. So, she approaches me. We have a conversation. We talk. She was attractive. Of course, nothing happened on that front.
"But she was attractive. So, it was very easy to be distracted. Give her about almost $60,000; haven’t seen that money since. Yeah.
"I don’t think I did my due diligence as far as the homework and the research behind this person. Gave her about 60 bands, and [the money] just flew away.”
This situation appeared to deter Usman from investing initially after losing all of his money in disappointing circumstances.
However he went on to add that he has since invested further of his wealth but did more studying of the market and made a lucrative $30,000 investment which has since paid off.
Usman is reported to have generated another purse of $1million for his recent rematch clash with Colby Covington.
The pair produced an epic duel in which he prevailed for the second time but was sternly tested by his rival winning by decision.

Edwards is the logical option for Usman's next defence after having defeated Burns and Covington who are the division's two leading contenders.
Alternatively he could wait for a shot at either Israel Adesanya or Robert Whittaker in a bid to become the promotion's latest double-champion.
UFC president Dana White believes Usman can go on to become one of the most dominant welterweight's ever and has also included in his top-five stars of all time above Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Usman has also hinted at a potential boxing showdown with Canelo Alvarez but any deal is extremely unlikely as he remains happy competing in the UFC.
Another option Usman has spoken about is a two-division switch to face Jan Blachowicz at light-heavyweight.
“I was going to skip Israel and go fight Jan at 205,” Usman said.
“Because I’m pound-for-pound, I want to prove it. No matter what weight it is, I thought he was a really good matchup for me.”
