UFC champion Aljamain Sterling has admitted he feels pregnant after piling on weight following his win over TJ Dillashaw.
Sterling defended his UFC bantamweight title at UFC 280 when he stopped his challenger in the second round after Dillashaw dislocated his shoulder. The 135lb champion could now face a whole host of alternative challenges to his crown including former two-weight champion Henry Cejudo who is set to return to the division after retiring.
In the aftermath of the fight, Sterling revealed he planned to take a break from action before returning in the new year if a potential showdown with Cejudo is made. However he has admitted that his body is currently struggling to deal with returning to normal after making the significant cut to meet the bantamweight limit.
"Really I moved so I can eat a little bit more," Sterling said. "I am 170lb right now, I am a big boy right now. I know people were talking about me going to Perth and fighting, I am like dude relax I just did two five-round training camps back-to-back.
"I have got to let my body chill out, right now I am eating everything because I can't stabilise because once you do a drastic weight cut it is so hard to get your body back to normal. I thought I would have been okay by now but I am still getting these weird cravings and I don't know it is weird. I think I might be pregnant."
Sterling has made it known that his body is now beginning to struggle with the harsh weight cuts to reach 135lb, and could potentially move up to 145lb to make a challenge to champion Alexander Volkanovski. Several challenges could wait at 135lb if he does opt to remain in the division for further outings including Cejudo and Marlon Vera.

The Jamaican star is unconcerned by the potential challenge of 'Triple C' if it is ordered and believes he can rise from his couch to take the win. “He’s a smart dude, he’s getting older, but that fight doesn’t really move me," Sterling continued. "Like, I’m not getting up in the morning going, ‘Yeah, I’m fighting Henry Cejudo.’ I fight (Sean) O’Malley, I’m like, ‘Yeah, this is a big f***ing fight.’
"I fight (Marlon) ‘Chito’ Vera, I’m like, ‘This is dangerous and a big f***ing fight.’ With Henry, it’s just like I’m fighting the ‘King of Cringe,’ whatever you want to call him. If I beat Cejudo, you beat a guy coming off the couch. 'Oh, he was off for three years.’ There’s always gonna be a narrative that people are gonna have and try and discredit you. So, why not fight someone who’s actually been in here competing?"
