UFC books Jaqueline Amorim vs. Polyana Viana for April event

Two of Brazil’s top strawweights will square off this April.

At UFC Fight Night event April 26 rumored for Kansas City, Mo., Jaqueline Amorim and Polyana Viana will meet in a three-round bout.

Two people with knowledge of the matchup recently informed MMA Junkie of the matchup but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. Ag. Fight was first to report the bout.

Amorim (9-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) aims to extend her winning streak to four in what will widely be considered her most high-profile test to date. Following a loss to Sam Hughes in her debut, Amorim defeated Montserrat Ruiz, Cory McKenna, and Vanessa Demopoulos in succession.

Viana (13-7 MMA, 4-6 UFC) looks to snap a two-fight skid. After a 3-1 stretch from August 2020 to November 2022, she was finished by Iasmin Lucindo and Gillian Robertson in her most recent two outings. Viana was expected to fight Cory McKenna in October, but withdrew.

With the addition, the UFC Fight Night lineup for April 26 includes:

  • Abus Magomedov vs. Michel Pereira
  • Giga Chikadze vs. David Onama
  • Ikram Aliskerov vs. Andre Muniz
  • Ahmad Hassanzada vs. Mitch Ramirez
  • Jaqueline Amorim vs. Polyana Viana
