MIAMI – MMA Junkie was scene and reporting live from Friday’s UFC 314 fighter weigh-ins.
The early weigh-ins took place at the UFC host hotel in Miami and precede the ceremonial weigh-ins for the fans, which take place at 5 p.m. ET at Kaseya Center. The same venue hosts Saturday’s event (ESPN+ pay-per-view, ESPN/Disney+, ESPN+)
Among those weighing in are former featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski (26-5 MMA, 13-4 UFC) and Diego Lopes (27-6 MMA, 6-1 UFC), who meet for the newly vacated 145-pound title in the main event, and Michael Chandler (23-9 MMA, 2-4 UFC) and Paddy Pimblett (22-3 MMA, 6-0 UFC), who fight in the highly anticipated lightweight co-feature.
All the prominent names on the card made weight, with the only miss coming in the first bout of the night. Nora Cornolle was two pounds over the women’s bantamweight limit on her first attempt, then was 1.5 pounds over after being granted an additional hour.
