UFC 314 (pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+) took place Saturday, and MMA junkie kept you up to date with live round-by-round coverage and official results throughout the event. UFC 314 takes place at Kaseya Center in Miami.
In the headliner, former featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski (27-5 MMA, 14-4 UFC) took on Diego Lopes (27-7 MMA, 6-2 UFC) for the belt vacated when Ilia Topuria moved up to lightweight. In the co-feature, Michael Chandler (23-10 MMA, 2-5 UFC) took on Paddy Pimblett (23-3 MMA, 7-0 UFC) at lightweight. Plus, former Bellator all-time great and two-division champ Patricio Freire (36-8 MMA, 0-1 UFC) made his UFC debut against Yair Rodriguez (20-5 MMA, 11-4 UFC).

Alexander Volkanovski vs. Diego Lopes
Round 1 – They touch gloves to start. The crowd chants “Let’s go Volk.” Lopes controls the center as they offer their initial single strikes to find the range. Volkanovski kicks high, but Lopes catches it. Volkanovski closes in and they trade punches in a heated exchange. They reset and a moment later, another exchange of punches. Volkanovski lands a big right hand in a combination, but Lopes shakes his head afterward. Another hard exchange of punches, but Volkanovski sends Lopes stumbling back. They both acknowledge the moment and get back to it as they crowd chants for Volkanovski again. Volkanovski charges forward for a takedown. Lopes keeps things standing, but eats a knee to the head. Lopes nearly gets a reversal in the clinch, but Volkanovski regains control. Big punches from Volkanovski now! Lopes goes down! Lopes looks to hold on until the horn!

Round 2 – They touch ’em up again. Volkanovski circles on the outside as they both look for an opening. Neither rush the moment as they offer single punches, but Volkanovski remains sharper. Lopes lands a nice left after Volkanovski connects. Now it’s a level change from Volkanovski, but he bails on it quickly. Lopes doubles up the left jab. They both open up with punches at the same time, but it’s Volkanovski who sends Lopes stumbling backward into the fence. Volkanovski looks for the takedown, but Lopes gets away. Volkanovski is cut under his right eye now. Blood on the nose of Lopes. Another heated exchange with Volkanovski getting the better of it. The action heats up with another exchange, but this time Lopes drops Volkanovski with a big right hand! Lopes swarms! Volkanovski gets up quickly before the horn sounds.

Round 3 – Lopes stays patient as he comes foward. The first exchange of strikes appears pretty even. Volkanovski doubles up inside kicks. Lopes offers a quick 1-2. Both land hard punches in an exchange. Lopes charges foward. Volkanovski lands a hard counter. Two minutes on the clock. They trade again, both seemingly miss their bigger offerings. Volkanovski changes levels, but doesn’t fully commit to it. Volkanovski lands a nice counter right. Lopes with a kick. Volkanovski comes in for a takedown, but Lopes shakes him off and lands a punch.

Round 4 – Lopes hypes up the crowd before they touch gloves. Volkanovski lands a speedy 1-2. Leg kick for Lopes. Volkanovski lands one in return. A crisp left for Volkanovski finds the mark. Lopes offers a combination, sparking an excahnge. Volkanovski takes the center now and shoots in, but gets easily brushed aside. Lopes lunges in with a left hook. Volkanovski lands a counter. Lopes opens up and lands a big uppercut! Volkanovski appears hurt! Lopes is swarming with punches trying to land another big one! Volkanovski is retreating! Lopes lets off the gas. Volkanovski lands a right. A jab not far behind it. Volkanovski lands another right at the end of a combo. Lopes lands another left in the final exchange.

Round 5 – The final round begins with a glove touch and Lopes coming forward. Both offer punches, but just miss. Lopes with a kick to the body. Volkanovski lands a nice right hand and circles away. Lopes puts together a combination. Lopes lands again, but Volkanovski answers immediately. Volkanovski with a sharp 1-2. Lopes lands a nice right hand. Volkanovski clinches, but Lopes quickly slips away. Volkanovski with a nice left hook. Volkanovski gets a thumb in the eye and Lopes complains, but doesn’t want to pause the fight. Volkanovski lands a jab and then a hook. A right hand behind them. Lopes keeps the pressure high. Volkanovski keeps the jab going. Lopes looks for hooks. Under a minute now and Lopes wants to throw down. Volkanovski lands a big left. Lopes yells at him. Volkanovski looks for a trip. Both point to the ground. One more last exchange.

Chandler changes levels and gets a nice takedown. He drives in a knee to the body as he looks to secure back control. Pimblett gets up to one knee and looks for a kimura. Chandler dumps him back to the mat and adds a couple of punches. Pimblett gets back to standing, and then jumps for a flying triangle. It’s not there, but it leads to the fight returning to the center. Pimblett lands a right hand followed by a leg kick. Chandler lands a hard right hand. Pimblett waves him on. Pimblett keeps the pressure on with single punches as Chandler circles on the outside. Chandler lands a left hook with a jab not far behind it. Pimblett rushes foward with a jumping kick and punches behind it.

Round 2 – They touch ’em up high and get right back into it. Chandler comes forward with punches. Pimblett offers hooks to counter. They trade leg kicks. Pimblett punches then kicks to the legs. More leg kicks are exchanged. Pimblett blitzes forward with punches. A kick from Chandler goes low, flush to the junk, causing Pimblett to fold over. The fight is paused for a moment. Chandler apologizes before they get back into it. Chandler eats a punch on the way in for a takedown, which he completes by lifting and dumping Pimblett. He takes the back, but gets too high and loses the position. Pimblett looks for an arm triangle sub, but Chandler defends well. Chandler looks to explode to his feet, but gives up his back. Pimblett takes full mount to rain down hard elbows! Chandler gives up his back again. More punches here from Pimblett as he has the body triangle locked in.

Round 3 – Chandler comes forward looking to land punches, but Pimblett lands a beautiful counter jumping knee to slice open a nasty cut! Pimblett looks to follow up but Chandler lands a nice counter. Pimblett cracks him again. Now it’s Pimblett with a big takedown! He’s on the back, looking for a choke while landing short punches and elbows. Chandler is a bloody mess. Pimblett gets into full mount and start unloading strikes! He’s pounding away! There’s the TKO stoppage! What a win for Pimblett!

Round 1 – No glove touch for this one. The feel-out process starts out methodically, both hesitant to engage first as they study the movement. A quick first exchange of strikes. Freire kicks to the leg. Rodriguez comes forward with a leg kick followed by a front kick to the body. Rodriguez offers a right hand as Freire circles on the outside. A few boo birds begin chirping. Rodriguez sends in a jumping switch kick. Rodriguez lands a head kick as he blitzes forward and Freire waves him on. They clinch up, and Friere looks for the trip takedown, but it’s not there. He offers a 1-2 after the exit. Rodriguez with a front kick. Freire catches a kick and uses it to push Rodriguez to the mat. Freire starts working in half guard with just a few seconds left. Rodriguez punches from his back and Freire complains about back of the head punches. Friere gets in a couple of short elbows before the horn.

More punches from Friere as he starts to open up a little. Rodriguez returns a kick. More kicks are offered from Rodriguez that Freire avoids. Freire gets a takedown, but can’t keep the fight on the mat. Rodriguez lands a clean punch. Rodriguez kics to the head and body. Freire doubles up the jab as he comes forward. Rodriguez land a fast 1-2. He adds a few kicks behind it. Freire looks for the takedown, but gets reversed before the horn.

Round 3 – Rodriguez bounces back and forth with stance switches before sending in a hard leg kick. Freire comes forward, but is still hesitant to offer offense. Rodriguez keeps him honest with short strikes. Now Freire throws a few punches. Rodriguez goes for a spinning attack, but gets tripped up. He pops right back up and gets back to the center. Freire looks for a right hand. He lands a left right after, but Rodriguez floors him with a counter! Rodriguez swarms with ground and pound! Big strikes from Rodriguez! Hard elbows! Freire tries to survive the moment! Rodriguez takes a breath and gets back to punching. Freire throws up an armbar out of nowhere! It looks tight, but Rodriguez slips out. Rodriguez goes back to the ground, looking for a heel hook! Freire gets out and they’re back to their feet with 20 seconds to go. Rodriguez starts celebrating. He offers one last spinning kick before the horn.

Silva starts taunting a little as he closes the distance. Mitchell with another leg kick. Silva lands a solid right hand. Another leg kick for Mitchell. Silva catches a kick and lands a punch, but Mitchell adds a spinning backfist on the exit. Silva sprawls a takedown attempt. Silva lands a left hand. A spinning back kick to the head is there for Silva. Mitchell shoots and Silva latches on with a tight guillotine choke. It’s deep! Mitchell stays calm and gets out. Back to the feet. Round 2 – Woodson looks to establish the range behind his jab, but Ige comes forward with punches. Woodson slips and circles. Ige comes forward again. He clinches, but abandons it pretty quickly. Ige lands a left hand. Woodson is bleeding from the nose now. Woodson lands a counter punch as Ige closes in on a single leg. It’s defended well and they return to the center. Woodson kicks to the leg and adds an uppercut. Ige comes in with a punch, but Woodson rolls with it nicely. Woodson continues to give Ige a lot to think about with his hand and arm movements, but Ige keeps coming forward. Ige lands a leg kick and then rushes forward for a takedown, but Woodson sprawls it well. Ige keeps the clinch against the fence for a moment. Woodson kicks to the head just before Ige charges ahead, looking to connect with a big punch. Ige spins with a kick. Woodson answers with a quick flurry of punches.

Round 3 – They trade punches early, with Woodson getting the better of it with quicker hands. Ige comes forward again, this time cracking Woodson with a left. Woodson is stumbled! Ige turns up the pressure! He wants the finish, but he’s patient. He connects again as Woodson circles. Woodson looks for the single leg but Ige unloads punches as Woodson is on the legs. Woodson is about to disengage but the referee steps in for the stoppage. What? Woodson immediately protests as Ige celebrates. Not the best stoppage in the world.

Round 1 – Yan gets the action started with initial kicks and punches. Jandiroba’s first action is a takedown attempt, but it’s defended well. Jandiroba looks for a head kick. Yan offers one of her own a moment later. Yan feints the right hand repeatedly before connecting with a combination. Jandiroba shoots in again, eventually getting Yan to the ground after solid initial resistance. Jandiroba starts going to work on a kimura. Jan gets her arm free and throws her legs up for an awkward holding position. Jandiroba stacks her and adds a few punches. Jandiroba stands up, but as Yan stands, she rushes back in, rolling for an armbar! It’s not there before the horn.

Round 2 – Jandiroba gets an early takedown, ending up with a nice back take. Jandiroba punches from the back while maintaining control with a body triangle. Yan prevents the choke attempts well, so Jandiroba goes back to punching. Now it’s a few short elbows. Jandiroba keeps working for a choke and decides to roll for an armbar. Yan slips out, stands up, and rains down punches. Jandiroba gets a hold of her right arm and throws up an armbar! Yan gets out. Jandiroba gets another armbar attempt! This one is deeper but Yan gets her arm back again.

Round 3 – Yan comes forward with a few strikes, but catches nothing but air. She grunts at Jandiroba while feinting, perhaps hoping to draw a reaction. Jandiroba changes levels, but Yan easily gets away. Jandiroba lands a left on the exit. Yan offers three punches. Another takedown attmpt is stuffed by Yan. She’s vocal with every action right now. Jandiroba gets in on the hips nicely. Blatant fence grab by Yan. Woah! She’s still holding it! Jandiroba still gets her down! The referee is super late on that one, and he finally runs over to say something. Meanwhile, Jandiroba works toward the back while adding a few short punches. One minute to go. Punches and an elbow from the back for Jandiroba. She’s fishing for a choke, too. Now it’s one more armbar attempt and it looks deep, but there’s the final horn.

Round 1 – No glove touch here as they get straight to finding the range with initial offerings. Hooper takes control of the center after landing a nice left hand. Miller circles and comes forward, landing a nice punch of his own. Hooper changes things up with a takedown attempt, but Miller counters with a guillotine choke! Hooper escapes it and the ground battle is on. Hooper eventually finds the back as Miller rises to his feet. Hooper looks for a rear-naked choke, but Miller defends well. Hooper punches from behind as Miller looks to peel him off. Miller is right in front of his corner against the fence, and listens to their instructions to shuck Hooper off. Now Miller is on top in guard. Hooper throws up a triangle. It’s not there and they return to the center with a just a few seconds remaining. They exchange punches before the horn.

Round 2 – Big strikes right of out the gate from both. Hooper’s offerings are a little sharper. Hooper closes distance for the takedown. Miller grabs a kimura to counter, but Hooper gets his arm free and scrambles to the back. Miller stands again with Hooper on his back along the fence. Hooper opts to abandon the standing back take and hits a trip to take side control on the ground. Miller works his way back to the feet, just to be returned to the mat. The sequence repeats again, but this time Hooper brings him to the center of the canvas. One minute to go. Miller is back to the feet, but dragged down. The crowd starts to boo, and Hooper rolls for a nasty looking submission with Miller’s legs, but nothing comes of it before the horn sounds.

Round 3 – Miller comes out punching, as does hooper with a spinning attack. Hooper changes levels but gets stuffed. Hooper attempts another takedown a moment later and get its with four minutes left. Miller works up just to get dragged down again. Now Hooper is on the back. Hooper thought about a twister, but now he’s attacking Miller’s left leg. He’s back to the twister attempt. Miller defends well, and Hooper is now in half guard with a minute to go. Hooper is just smothering Miller here in the final seconds.

Round 1 – Erosa stalks forward early and nails Elkins with a big shot early! Elkins is knocked off balance but pops up to his feet. Elkins resets and changes levels for a takedown in the center of the cage. Erosa is active from his back with elbows to the head. Elkins rains down a few hammerfists and stands up. Erosa smashes him with a pair of upkicks! They’re back to standing. Elkins is busted open and he looks a little wobbly. Erosa calmly stalks forward and there’s Elkins with another takedown, but Erosa almost welcomed it. Erosa smashes him with an elbow has he gets up. Erosa blasts Elkins with a left and he stumbles to the ground. Elkins shoots for a single. Erosa counters and gets a crucifix, but Elkins escapes. They’re back to the feet again, and Elkins is stumbling. Erosa stays patient. Big knee from Erosa. Elkins panic shoots again. Erosa easily defends and unloads punches while Elkins holds on to the ankle. That’s it. The ref stops it!

Sedriques Dumas vs. Michal Oleksiejczuk
Round 1 – They touch gloves to start. Dumas opens the action with a few high kicks. He then adds a front kick to the body. Oleksiejczuk comes forward with a left hand. Oleksiejczuk adds a nice combination as he presses forward. Big reaction from Dumas to duck and circle off the fence. Oleksiejczuk keeps the distance close and lands a left. Oleksiejczuk clips Dumas and he’s down! Oleksiejczuk swarms with big ground and pound! Dumas is covering up, but the barrage is too much. The referee stops it!

Su Mudaerji vs. Mitch Raposo
Round 1 – They touch ’em up as the crowd chants “U-S-A” for Raposo. Mudaerji controls from the center early with Raposo light on his feet, circling. Raposo stings with a nice combination and resumes circling. Mudaerji lands a quick front kick to the face. Raposo rips a quick combo. A moment later Raposo finds an entry for a takedown, but lets go once he realizes it’s not there. Mudaerji turns up his forward pressure behind a right jab, and adds a few hard leg kicks. Raposo changes levels nicely to complete a takedown, but Mudaerji quickly gets his feet underhim and attempts to roll out. Raposo stays attached, and closes out the round pinning Mudaerji against the fence.

Round 2 – Mudaerji resumes his center control, working behind that long right jab. Raposo eats a couple of leg kicks and charges forward into a takedown attempt. Mudaerji defends it well and Raposo disengages. The crowd starts to boo the lack of big moments. Mudaerji rips a quick 1-2. A kick from Mudaerji is checked well, causing Mudaerji to stumble to the ground. He pops right back up, though. Raposo times a nice takedown after Mudaerji missed with a spinning attack. Mudaerji gets up quickly and the clinch battle is on against the fence, but Raposo lets it go again. Mudaerji’s jab scores again before Raposo comes in for the clinch, but can’t get the takedown.

Round 3 – They touch ’em up and get into it with a nice early exchange of punches. Mudaerji keeps control of the center, stopping a takedown shot from Raposo. Mudaerji stays active behind his jab as Raposo circles on the outside. Raposo shoots in for a nice takedown, but can’t keep Mudaerji down. He’s immediately back up and back to the center. Three minutes to go. Mudaerji’s jab lands well again. An inside kick follows, and Raposo signals that it’s low. The replay looks clean and the referee calls for the fight to restart immediately. More jab work from Mudaerji and another takedown from Raposo. Once again, Mudaerji quickly gets to his feet. This time Raposo stays attached as Mudaerji lands short punches in the clinch. They separate with a minute to go. Raposo gets another takedown, but Mudaerji is right back to his feet again. Mudaerji with more short punches in the clinch against the fence.

Tresean Gore vs. Marco Tulio
Round 1 – They touch ’em up and get into the opening exchanges with Tulio offering kicks and punches. Gore fires a combination in return. A Tulio inside kick goes low, but Gore wants to continue immediately. They trade again with Gore landing a nice right hand. Tulio throws a spinning back kick to the body. Another hard exchange of punches. They’re really getting after it early here. Tulio sweeps out Gore’s legs with a kick, but he pops right back up. Tulio continues to go first, but Gore clips him with a left hand! Tulio is wobbled! Gore closes in, but Tulio fires back with a hard elbow! We’re just midway through the round. Gore with another clean left. Tulio charges forward with a combo. Gore is busted open and Tulio’s jab is only adding to it. Tulio with another beautiful combination ending with a kick. Tulio starts unloading. He’s teeing off on Gore now! A punch sits him down! Tulio follows him down, but Gore gets back to his feet. Gore lands a hard right! Tulio kicks to the body. Gore with a big overhand right! Tulio with a wheel kick! What an insane round!

Round 2 – They come out and get right back into it by trading leg kicks. Tulio kicks to the body nicely, and Gore responds with one of his own. Tulio blitzes forward with punches and another spinning kick. Gore lands a left as he comes forward. Tulio lands a counter punch. A front kick from Tulio goes low, this time pausing the fight. It’s a short break, and on the restart they get back to trading. Tulio with a beautiful punch-kick-spinning kick combo. Tulio connects with a head kick and Gore is wobbled! Tulio rushes in for the finish! Gore goes down but holds on and tries to stay in it. He stays calm and gets to his feet! Tulio keeps teeing off and blasts Gore with a hard right hand to sit him down again. That one ends it! Woah!

Nora Cornolle vs. Hailey Cowan
Round 1 – They meet in the middle and exchange a few punches right away. Cowan gets control in a clinch, bringing the fight to the cage. Cornolle gets the position reversed, but a trip attempt sees Cowan end up on top on the ground. Cornolle throws up an armbar! Cowan escapes and starts working from the top. Cornolle keeps Cowan pinned in close to prevent ground and pound. Cowan does manage to get in a few punches to the body and a short elbow. The crowd doesn’t like the action as we hear the first boos of the evening. Cornolle gets a little active from her back with an elbow to the head. She attempts to explode to her feet, but Cowan scrambles to take the back.

Round 2 – Cowan comes out with a kick and Cornolle responds with a blitz of strikes. Cowan gets another kick in as Cornolle aggressively charges forward. Cornolle gets a takedow and finds Cowan’s back. There’s a rear-naked choke! The arm is under and it’s deep! Cowan taps! Wow!
