UFC 312 video: Quillan Salkilld sparks Anshul Jubli with one-punch KO in 19 seconds

If you blinked, you might have missed the UFC debut of Quillan Salkilld.

Kicking off the early prelims of UFC 312 at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia, was a lightweight matchup between the debuting Salkilld (8-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and Anshul Jubli. The fight lasted just 19 seconds after Australia’s Salkilld floored Jubli (7-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) with a crushing right hand, sending his home country’s crowd into an early frenzy.

It was a simple setup. Salkilld pawed out the left hand, then sat on the right with full power. The punch connected and Jubli crashed to the canvas, covering up. The referee rushed in just as Jubli began to grab for Salkilld’s legs. Salkilld was already in celebration mode as Jubli kept trying to grab his legs. The referee had to pull Jubli away and deal with his post-fight complaints of an early stoppage.

Check out video of the finish below (via X):

The finish was the second fastest finish in lightweight debut history. The record belongs to Terrance McKinney at seven seconds.

Salkilld earned his way into the UFC following a unanimous decision victory over Gauge Young at Dana White’s Contender Series in September. On the other side, Jubli falls to 1-2 in the UFC, having lost back-to-back fights.
