UFC 306 is set to take place at the Sphere in Las Vegas on September 14, with UFC CEO Dana White having initially set high expectations for the pay-per-view fight card. White had predicted a live gate of $25 to $27 million for the event, but has since revised his estimate to $21 million.
Despite the adjusted figure, this would still mark a record live gate for a UFC event. However, the UFC has reportedly invested $20 million in the production side of the fight card, a significant amount never before seen for a live event.
One factor contributing to the reduced live gate estimate is the availability of over 1,000 tickets for the event, with ticket prices dropping as the fight night approaches. The lowest-priced ticket currently stands at $907.50, down from $1,657.50 in early August.
White has promised fans an unparalleled experience at UFC 306, boasting about the team assembled for the event and the innovative production plans. He emphasized that the event will be a one-of-a-kind spectacle, both live in the arena and on television.
The UFC's partnership with the Saudi General Entertainment Authority has helped offset some of the event's costs, with the promotion aiming to make UFC 306 the greatest event in combat sports history.
UFC 306 will feature two title fights, with bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley facing Merab Dvalishvili in the main event, and women’s flyweight champ Alexa Grasso defending her title against Valentina Shevchenko in the co-main event.
With the event approaching, fans are eagerly anticipating the unique experience promised by Dana White and the UFC team at UFC 306.
