LAS VEGAS – The stage is set for the International Fight Week finale at UFC 303 after headliners Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka had a final faceoff Friday at ceremonial weigh-ins.
Pereira (10-2 MMA, 7-1 UFC) and Prochazka (30-4-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) agreed to a light heavyweight title rematch on 17 days’ notice in replacement for the canceled original main event between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler. Both men made weight earlier in the day, then completed their pre-fight obligations with a final encounter in front of fans and media.
There was no shortage of intensity as Pereira, 36, and Prochazka, 31, engaged in one last staredown before the rematch, and you can watch the video above.
Prochazka will attempt to exact revenge on Pereira after he suffered a second-round TKO loss in their first meeting at UFC 295 in November. Prochazka has stated he felt the stoppage came early in the fight, and now gets his chance to prove it in the sequel.
UFC 303 takes place Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The main card airs on ESPN+ pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and ESPN+.
