UFC 302 took place Saturday, and MMA Junkir provided live play-by-play and official results. UFC 302 (pay-per-view/ESPN/ESPN+) took place at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
In the headliner, lightweight champion Islam Makhachev (26-1 MMA, 15-1 UFC) defended his title against former interim champ Dustin Poirier (30-9 MMA, 22-8 UFC). In the co-feature, Paulo Costa (14-4 MMA, 6-4 UFC) lost to former middleweight champ Sean Strickland (29-6 MMA, 16-6 UFC).
