Denise Gomes came up big as an underdog against Yazmin Jauregui, and did it in record-breaking fashion.
Gomes (8-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC) needed just 20 seconds to stop Jauregui (10-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) by TKO Saturday in their strawweight bout at UFC 290 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Gomes, who was a +310 underdog, connected with two straight right hands that stunned Jauregui early. The Brazilian fighter then rained down punches on Jauregui, who held onto her leg, but ate big shots in the process that prompted referee Jason Herzog to stop the fight (via ESPN MMA).

Mexico’s Jauregui suffered her first-career loss after a 2-0 octagon start with wins over Iasmin Lucindo and Istela Nunes.
