LAS VEGAS – Alexander Volkanovski and Yair Rodriguez saw each other for the final time before sharing the octagon at UFC 290 during Friday’s ceremonial weigh-ins.
Volkanovski (25-2 MMA, 12-1 UFC) and Rodriguez (15-3 MMA, 10-2 UFC) are set to clash in the International Fight Week headliner on Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena in what will be a featherweight title unification bout. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ABC, ESPN and ESPN+.
After the current and interim champion made weight earlier in the day, they attended ceremonial weigh-ins where they engaged in a final faceoff, which was intense, yet respectful.
