The Uefa Super Cup may not be a priority trophy for either Liverpool or Chelsea this season, but neither side will want to leave Istanbul on the losing side tonight.
The Super Cup - the European version of the Community Shield - takes place tonight at Vodafone Park, with Champions League holders Liverpool and Europa League winners Chelsea facing off in Turkey.
Jurgen Klopp's side are heavy favourites, especially after both sides' opening Premier League fixtures last weekend. Liverpool thrashed Norwich City 4-1 at Anfield on Friday night, while Chelsea were brought down to earth with a bump in a 4-0 rout at Manchester United on Sunday.
Lampard stood by his players in the aftermath of that chaotic defeat, but Chelsea's all-time leading goalscorer would privately admit he has a huge task on his hands this season.
The Blues should be able to make it a tighter affair than at Old Trafford and will be heartened by their dangerous attacking play, but if Lampard's defence puts in the same type of display as in Manchester, the likes of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino should make light work of the west London club.
