UEFA say they "strongly condemn" the Russian invasion of Ukraine and have confirmed the outcome of a number of key decisions will be announced on Friday.
Ukraine stand on the brink of war after Russia began direct military action overnight.
A number of players for the Ukraine national team are preparing for war as the country's Premier League has been suspended for 30 days.
It was announced earlier on Thursday that UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin will host an emergency meeting on Thursday to discuss the impact on football. Key items on the agenda are Scotland's World Cup qualifier with Ukraine next month and the Champions League Final - which is expected to be stripped from St Petersburg's Gazprom arena.
And now UEFA have officially broken their silence in a statement that reads: "UEFA shares the international community’s significant concern for the security situation developing in Europe and strongly condemns the ongoing Russian military invasion in Ukraine.
"As the governing body of European football, UEFA is working tirelessly to develop and promote football according to common European values such as peace and respect for human rights, in the spirit of the Olympic Charter.
"We remain resolute in our solidarity with the football community in Ukraine and stand ready to extend our hand to the Ukrainian people.
"We are dealing with this situation with the utmost seriousness and urgency. Decisions will be taken by the UEFA Executive Committee and announced tomorrow."
As regards the Scotland vs Ukraine game next month, an SFA statement has confirmed they are "in dialogue" with UEFA over the game.
It reads: "The Scottish FA is in ongoing dialogue with UEFA regarding the situation in Ukraine and we will continue to monitor developments."
