Chelsea take on Italian side Udinese in a friendly in Northern Italy this evening, hoping they can improve their pre-season form in their final match as they prepare for the new season.
It will be Thomas Tuchel's last chance to assess his players ahead of the new campaign following a difficult last outing against Arsenal in which they lost 4-0 on July 23rd. They also played two more games in the US, opening with a 2-1 victory over Club America before a loss to Charlotte FC on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
However, Chelsea's squad will be boosted by the presence of N'Golo Kante and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. They were both absent from the US preparations after they were denied entry to the country based on their COVID vaccination status.

Udinese, who are based in North Eastern Italy, finished 12th last season in Serie A and will provide stiff competition for Tuchel's men. They boast a number of recognisable faces due to their affiliation with Watford. Adam Masina, Roberto Pereyra, Gerard Deulofeu and Isaac Success will all be familiar to fans of the Premier League.
The match comes just over a week before The Blues' opening Premier League game of the season against Frank Lampard's Everton on August 6th. This means that Conte is likely to pick a strong side in order to help his new signings, including Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly build as much familiarity as possible ahead of the new campaign.
